Owens & Associates, Inc. (O & A) was founded in 1982 as a Human Resource Consulting firm. Due to numerous needs of employees within companies represented by Owens & Associates, it became apparent that a new segment of services was needed. Therefore, in 1986, the firm developed a division which specifically dealt with the needs of employees and their families. During this period, O & A contracted with the Department of Social Services to educationally provide independent living skills for state wards. At the same time, our educational division began working with the at-risk population of eighteen Iowa High Schools located on the western edge of Iowa. In 1992, Owens Educational Services, incorporated as a self-sufficient, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from within the community at large. Today, Owens & Associates Inc. and Owens Educational Services are multi-faceted organizations that forms partnerships to meet the needs of the clients we serve. We are continually developing and administering new programs and services that empower our clients to achieve and sustain self-sufficiency.
