The 2011 Diamonds in the Rough Annual Fundraiser was held on Friday, September 2, 2011. The venue for the event, which is traditionally held solely on the River City Star, was changed this year to include a live concert featuring Omaha's #1 Cover Band, Taxi Driver, down on Miller's Landing. With the unfortunate and history making flooding of the Missouri River, the River City Star was unable to sail, however, it didn't stop guests from having an amazing time, despite a storm that came through that evening!
The Annual Gene Haynes award, which honors a member of our community for their dedication to youth and families in our community, was awarded this year to Mr. Ivan Gilreath, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club.
