The 2008 Diamonds in the Rough Fundraiser was held on August 19th. The attendees met at Miller's Landing and shared stories before the presentation began. Awards were given to the Owens Educational Services's sponsors. The Gene Haynes award was presented to Tommie Wilson for her work with youths of this generation.
The River City Star was boarded shortly thereafter. Dinner was served as the ship made its way down the Missouri River. Toward the end of the event, the raffle and silent auction were held. You can view photos by clicking Photo Gallery below.
