The Owens Companies > OES > Day Reporting Center
This site-based, behavior modification program is now in operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. Transportation is provided in the a.m., mid afternoon and late evening. Youth may be assigned to the Reporting Center for full or partial days with any combination of the Center hours.
This program identifies and works with the youth to change destructive and illegal behaviors to assist them in becoming a viable part of the community. Components of the program include:
- Behavior modification (anger management, decision making, etc.)
- Independent living skills (budgeting, jobs, etc.)
- Restitution
- Community service
- Educational tutoring and/or credits towards school
- Drug & alcohol/sex education
- Setting goals
- Following direction
- Consequences
Benefits of using this service:
- Youth are supervised when responsible adults cannot be present
- Youth are held accountable for their actions
- Youth are able to either maintain grade level or work on obtaining a GED
- Youth learn to follow direction under explicit rules
- Youth gain self-esteem from interaction with community activities and personal growth opportunities
- Youth learn skills for survival such as cooking, cleaning, picking up after themselves, etc
- Youth are given positive role models in the various programming modules
- Youth participate in constructive, team building activities during their recreational time
- Youth are given an opportunity to develop or expand their creative ideas through crafts
