Owens and Associates and Owens Educational Services are providing services for the Eastern Service Area (Douglas and Sarpy Counties) and the Southeastern Service Area of Nebraska. It will provide a continuum of Safety and In-Home services for clients referred by the primary contactors thru the Department of Health and Human Services.

The program goal is to provide quality and consistency of wrap-around services while utilizing Evidence Based/Promising Practice Models to assure the Child Safety, Well-being of Children, reunification of families and/or maintain the permanency of the child.

Our companies believe that working with the entire family within their natural environment is essential to their success. Services will be individually designed and tailored to suit each family. Families will help develop their own action plan and be at the center of any action taken. By coming together, our goal is to move families from the most restrictive level too the least restrictive level of the service array.

Embarking on a totally new approach to serving youth and families, the following will highlight services in the Safety and In-Home Service Array.

  • In-Home Safety Services: direct supervision of children; crisis response within two hours of call; used to control or manage child or safety concerns; used to promote stability in the home; and utilize strengths of the family.
  • Family Engagement Services: genogram & eco-map development with family members; involvement of non-custodial parents; flexible scheduling and technology to assist family involvement.
  • Intensive Family Preservation within 24 hours of referral: improve family functioning by skill acquisition in parenting, communication, behavior management, life skills and community engagement; effective intervention when imminent risk for out-of-home placement is found; builds on family strengths; accessible 24 X 7, 365 a year; outcome based.
  • Family Support Services: provides skill development to a child’s parents or caretakers or to youth adjudicated as delinquents or status offenders; provides in home services in the home to parent, child, school or other appropriate locations; used to control or manage safety concerns.
  • Visitation/Supervision: provides supervision of the interaction between a child and their parent as part of the safety plan or court order; used when children are in-home or out-of-home to control and manage for safety; documents strengths and areas of concern.
  • Electronic Monitoring – provided through OES
  • Tracker Services – provided through OES
  • Drug Screening and Testing
  • The below positions are both part-time and full-time. Full time Family Partners and Family Assistant employees are set up with a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday work week with daily hours being set towards their client’s needs. We have numerous positions open.

    Family Partner and Family Assistant (Omaha & Lincoln, NE) - Posted November 13, 2009
    Come be part of a fun and dedicated group of professionals who provide in home services such as parent training, life skills, household management, supervision of parent/child sessions, etc. A Family Partner Position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Human Services, child care, education or related field. A Family Assistant position requires a minimum of an associate’s degree or 3-5 years of experience in Human Services. Both positions require dedication as well as flexibility to meet the needs of the family. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, reliable transportation, ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs, work various hours and one weekend day, as well as have a true passion for reunifying children and families. Must be able to pass prescreening with CPS/APS, drug screen and background checks. Owens offers excellent benefits and comparable salaries.
