Diana Owens
|
Diana L. Owens has been and is a driving force in the Omaha Community for 30 years. Her contributions has not only been to the many business she has represented in the Midwest, but also to the citizens of the community. She has served on numerous committees established to benefit her local community and has been a very vocal advocate for the rights and welfare of youth and families. Her dedication to the community is noted in the many hours of training to Omaha residents on a gratis basis. This training enabled unemployed people to set goals and improve their futures by making positive and beneficial choices for their future. In the past, Mrs. Owens has displayed great innovation in assisting in the development and implementation of Reverse Commuting for the Metropolitan area which resulted in employment opportunities for many unemployed persons in the outer areas of the city.
As a manager, management consultant, personnel specialist, seminar leader, research associate, Mrs. Owens has built the background for a practical and theoretical approach to management development and training over the past 25 plus years. She has applied her experience to the development, organization and presentation of management development seminars to various organizations.
She is President of two of her own companies, located in two different locations in Omaha and Lincoln. Diana previously has held numerous other positions such as publications manger, Vice President of Public Relations, Director of Training, and Executive Director of an employers association. Based on this diverse background, Diana provides management services and alternative training programs to various corporations to assist them in reaching their full potential. Mrs. Owens specializes in the sensitivity of people working together at all levels.
In addition, Diana is the mother of seven children and the grandmother of 19 grandchildren. She has stated that her continued commitment to the community and to local businesses is to assure that her grandchildren have a safe and secure future - one that they too can grow up in to be productive citizens.

Gennifer Amato
|
Gennifer is both the Vice President for Owens & Associates, Inc. and the Executive Director for Owens Educational Services, Inc. Gennifer assists in the oversight of all services and functions of both organizations. Although a counseling degree was of initial interest, Gennifer received her degree in Business Administration.
Gennifer has three children.
Gennifer still finds the sights and sounds of children to be one of the biggest rewards of the job. Gennifer knows that the growth and success of both of the organizations is its strong management and staff, willingness to change to the needs of the community and genuine desire to see success in each of the individuals and families they serve.

Candi Mercantel
|
Candi was born and raised in North Omaha. She has the privilege of being in the last graduating class of Omaha Technical High School. Candi married young and had 3 children. Candi's college education includes a BA from the University of Bellevue in Bellevue, Nebraska, and she is currently working on her Master's Degree in Human Services through an online program at Capella University.
Candi has many interests and hobbies. Crafting, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and gardening are a few. She loves to camp and fish and enjoy anything that allows her to be outside. Her passion is work that involves helping and pleasing others.

Eva Abrams
|
Originally from Sioux Falls, SD. Went to Augustana College in Sioux Falls and graduated with a double major in Social Work and Sociology. Got married and moved to Omaha summer of 2004 and started at Owens in July of that year. Eva has experience with juvenile justice (Juvenile Detention Center in Sioux Falls), school social work (Sioux Falls School District Social Work Department), working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities (both in a school and group home setting), and have mentored elementary and middle school students. Eva likes to play golf in her spare time.

Chip Erwin
|
Chip is in his senior year at UNO with a major of Business Management. He has worked as an adult tracker for the Douglas County SSAS (Specialized Substance Abuse Supervision) program and helped develop and supervise the Drug and Alcohol Division for Owens. Chip is currently working on developing a Staffing program that is focused on helping small to medium businesses find job applicants that match their needs.

Cathy Hadley Wilson
|
Cathy obtained her Masters Degree in Human Relations from The University of Oklahoma in 2003 and received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida, in 1982. Cathy started with Owens in 2006 as a Family Support Worker. After six months Cathy became Owens Parenting Class Facilitator. Six months following that, Cathy became Owens Quality Improvement Specialist and Trainer.
Cathy married in1986 and has two teenage children and one adult child. Cathy moved to Omaha in 2002. As a U.S. Military wife and a U.S. Military daughter, Cathy has traveled and lived in several U.S. states and in Europe. Cathy loves to read, sew, sing in the church choir and travel on music missions trips. In 2007 the music ministry at her church sent Cathy and a small team to Japan.

April Vendetti
|
During her time with Owens April has had experience in both the Educational and Human Service fields. April has supervised a team of Human Service workers and also assisted in the supervision of the Y.O.U. Program. Currently she is a supervisor in the Families F.I.R.S.T. program.
April attended school at Doane College on a cross country and track scholarship. April received a degree in Psychology, and a minor in sociology. April lives in Lincoln with her dog Cooper. April enjoys spending time with her friends and family and is passionate about Husker Football.

Melissa Batt
|
Melissa has been with Owens since 2003. Melissa attended UNL and graduated with a BA in Family Sciences. Melissa enjoys being with her husband, Josh, and dog, Devaney. Melissa also enjoys Husker football and traveling. Melissa enjoys working at Owens and enjoys learning something new on a daily basis!

Jennifer Owens
|
Jennifer began working at Owens in September 2008. Prior to working at Owens, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in Child, Adult, and Family Services in 2003. After completing her B.S., Jennifer was working for the University of Kentucky in community outreach and education targeted toward families and youth. Following her employment in Kentucky, Jennifer took a similar position as County Youth Coordinator and Families Program Assistant for Iowa State University Extension in an urban county.
In 2006, Jennifer returned to Iowa State University where she completed her Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. While there, she worked as a therapist in the University’s Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic working with individuals, couples, and families. In August 2008, Jennifer moved to Omaha with her husband, Joe, and their three dogs. Jennifer enjoys reading, riding horses, and being outside whenever possible.

Mary Meyer
|
Mary has worked at Owens since November, 2008 as the IFP supervisor in Lincoln. Before coming to work at Owens, Mary attended IowaStateUniversity where she received her BA is Psychology in 2005. Mary then went on to study Marriage and Family Therapy at Iowa State where she graduated with her Masters of Family and Consumer Science degree in 2008. Mary has had experience working as a therapist with individuals, couples, and families in the ISU Marriage and Family Therapy clinic. She has also spent time working with youth struggling with chemical dependency in a residential treatment facility.
Mary recently moved to Lincoln from Iowa with her husband, Tim, and their two dogs Jack and Casper. Mary likes to spend time with her family and outside with her dogs. She also enjoys reading, writing, and doing artwork in her free time.

Justin McCoy
|
Justin is originally from Sioux Falls, SD. He attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. He was a student athlete and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business Administration in the summer of 2008. Upon completion of his degree Justin moved to Lincoln, NE.
Justin served a tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; he is still currently serves in the NE Army National Guard. Justin coaches for a gym in Lincoln during his free time. He enjoys the outdoors and time with his family. Justin is the supervisor for the Tracker program in the Lincoln service area.
