Diana Owens
President - Owens & Associates
Diana L. Owens has been and is a driving force in the Omaha Community for 30 years. Her contributions has not only been to the many business she has represented in the Midwest, but also to the citizens of the community. She has served on numerous committees established to benefit her local community and has been a very vocal advocate for the rights and welfare of youth and families. Her dedication to the community is noted in the many hours of training to Omaha residents on a gratis basis. This training enabled unemployed people to set goals and improve their futures by making positive and beneficial choices for their future. In the past, Mrs. Owens has displayed great innovation in assisting in the development and implementation of Reverse Commuting for the Metropolitan area which resulted in employment opportunities for many unemployed persons in the outer areas of the city.

As a manager, management consultant, personnel specialist, seminar leader, research associate, Mrs. Owens has built the background for a practical and theoretical approach to management development and training over the past 30 plus years. She has applied her experience to the development, organization and presentation of management development seminars to various organizations.

She is President of two of her own companies, located in two different locations in Omaha and Lincoln. Diana previously has held numerous other positions such as publications manger, Vice President of Public Relations, Director of Training, and Executive Director of an employers association. Based on this diverse background, Diana provides management services and alternative training programs to various corporations to assist them in reaching their full potential. Mrs. Owens specializes in the sensitivity of people working together at all levels.

In addition, Diana is the mother of seven children and the grandmother of 19 grandchildren. She has stated that her continued commitment to the community and to local businesses is to assure that her grandchildren have a safe and secure future - one that they too can grow up in to be productive citizens.

Gennifer Amato
Vice President - Owens & Associates
Executive Director - Owens Educational Services
Gennifer is both the Vice President for Owens & Associates, Inc. and the Executive Director for Owens Educational Services, Inc. Gennifer assists in the oversight of all services and functions of both organizations. Although a counseling degree was of initial interest, Gennifer received her degree in Business Administration.

Gennifer has three children.

Gennifer still finds the sights and sounds of children to be one of the biggest rewards of the job. Gennifer knows that the growth and success of both of the organizations is its strong management and staff, willingness to change to the needs of the community and genuine desire to see success in each of the individuals and families they serve.

Eva Abrams
Supervisor
Eva is originally from Sioux Falls, SD. She attended college at Augustana and graduated with a double major in Social Work and Sociology. Eva and her husband moved to Omaha during the summer of 2004 and she began her employment with Owens that July. Prior to moving to Omaha, Eva worked for the Juvenile Detention Center in Sioux Falls, the Sioux Falls School District Social Work Department, and also with developmentally disabled children and adults. In her spare time Eva enjoys volunteering for Wonder Weims Rescue, running, and spending time with her two dogs.
Melissa Batt
Supervisor
Melissa has been with Owens since April 2003. Melissa has her degree in Family Science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Melissa enjoys spending time with her son Barrett and husband Josh. Melissa enjoys husker football and helping her husband with creative t-shirt designs for his screen printing business. Melissa also enjoys going to concerts and spending time outdoors with her friends and family.
Elizabeth Buhrman
Supervisor
Elizabeth have been with Owens for over 2 years, and loves what she does. She has the best of all worlds here: she get to train the newly hired, occasionally works with our families as well as getting out in the field to observe our workers serving our clients.

In her spare time her passion is spending time with her 3 sons and 2 grandchildren, reading and traveling. Elizabeth says life is good!!!

Emily Diehl
Supervisor
Emily has been working with Owens since 2007. In May 2007 Emily finished her degree in Family Studies and Human Services with a focus in Business Management at Kansas State University. During that time, Emily worked in a restaurant where she became proficient in customer relations, employee training, and office work. Emily spends her free time with her family as well as fishing, reading, listening to music, and watching Kansas City Royals baseball.
Tiffany Doolittle
Supervisor
Tiffany has been with Owens for five years. Tiffany graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Marketing degree. Upon starting her MBA, she discovered her true passion was working with young people, while heading a youth group. Tiffany decided to leave the business world behind and dedicate herself to helping youth.

Tiffany is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Tiffany has been involved in various community causes. Tiffany also has been a member of assorted boards and is currently a board member of Safe Haven Community Center. Tiffany enjoys church, family time, giving to others, all sports (especially football), reading, writing, poetry, drawing, music and dancing. Tiffany is a huge fan of the great outdoors.

Chip Erwin
Supervisor
Chip began working with Owens as an adult tracker for the Douglas County SSAS (Specialized Substance Abuse Supervision) program. Since then he has supported Owens' mission to help children and families in many other capacities, including information technology, financials and recruitment and is currently the safety director for Owens. He also supervises Owens' drug testing services team. Chip is currently involved in research and development in drug testing and serves as a business resource to companies to help meet their drug testing and other needs.

Chip is nearing completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a specialization in entrepreneurship and preparing to pursue a Master's Degree in Organizational Communication at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Chip's activities include participation in reentry table talks that facilitate dialogue about barriers citizens face when they re-enter the community, as well as various community activities in support of children and development of strong families. He enjoys spending time with his daughter, running marathons and making homemade pizza.

Jennifer Owens
Supervisor
Jennifer began working at Owens in September 2008. Prior to working at Owens, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in Child, Adult, and Family Services in 2003. After completing her B.S., Jennifer was working for the University of Kentucky in community outreach and education targeted toward families and youth. Following her employment in Kentucky, Jennifer took a similar position as County Youth Coordinator and Families Program Assistant for Iowa State University Extension in an urban county.

In 2006, Jennifer returned to Iowa State University where she completed her Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. While there, she worked as a therapist in the University's Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic working with individuals, couples, and families. In August 2008, Jennifer moved to Omaha with her husband, Joe, and their dogs. Jennifer enjoys reading, riding horses, and being outside whenever possible.

Andrew Real
Information Technology
Andrew was born in Kansas City and raised in Omaha. He learned how to operate computers at a young age. He learned programming and now handles the day-to-day IT operations for The Owens Companies. He is currently a student at the University of Nebraska - Omaha.

Andrew enjoys disc golf, golf, and sand volleyball. He also enjoys being outside, camping, and music.

Kendra Shirkey
Supervisor
Kendra was born and raised in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Kendra then went to Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. Kendra has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, which minors in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. She has worked with domestic violence victims, both on a crisis hot line and leading a support group. Kendra then worked with developmentally disabled people in both residential and vocational settings in Rapid City, South Dakota, before transferring to Omaha. Kendra came to work at Owens as a Family Support Worker in July of 2007. Kendra is excited to work with and help children and families. Kendra enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family in her spare time.
April Vendetti-Bell
Supervisor
April Vendetti - Bell has been with Owens and Associates for 7 years. April graduated from Doane College with a degree in psychology. April resides in Lincoln with her husband Johnny and daughter Emersyn.
